LAHORE ( NNP ) Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has emerged as the highest-rated T20I bowler in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings after the latest update. are After his performance in the first three T20Is against New Zealand, Shaheen Afridi has climbed two places to occupy the 17th position among T20I bowlers globally.
Shaheen’s impressive performance in the series is contributing to his rise in ranking. He is currently the leading wicket-taker in the series after the first three matches. Shaheen managed to take the only wicket in the rain-affected opening match. However, it was his outstanding performance in the second match where he claimed figures of 3/13, which played a major role in Pakistan’s impressive seven-wicket victory over the Kiwis.
This impressive performance not only earned him accolades but also surpassed his teammate and fellow fast bowler Haris Rauf who is now ranked 22nd. Despite Shaheen Afridi’s progress, England’s Adil Rashid has retained his position as the top-ranked player in the T20I bowlers’ rankings. Meanwhile, Shadab Khan remains at the 24th position while Naseem Shah has suffered a 9-rank drop to the 52nd position in the ranking.
Pakistan’s Babar Azam has suffered a relegation in the batting department, currently ranked fifth with 755 rating points. This relegation follows his poor performances in the second and third T20Is of the series where he scored 14 and 37 runs respectively. On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan remains at the third position with 800 rating points thanks to his unbeaten innings of 45* in the second T20I against New Zealand. India’s Suryakumar Yadav at the top of the T20I batsman rankings continues to maintain his position as the premier batsman in the format.
