50 Pakistani flights have been affected in the first 24 hours after Pakistan stopped using Iran’s airspace.
According to aviation sources, the duration of PIA flights from Kuwait City to Sialkot and Lahore has increased.
The PIA flight from Karachi to Toronto is the most affected as Afghanistan’s airspace is already closed. The Karachi-Toronto flights PK 783 and 784 have been using Iran’s airspace for almost two and a half hours and now their total duration will increase by one hour.
40 PIA flights have been affected in the first 24 hours of the closure. PIA Flight PK 736 from Jeddah to Lahore at 39,000 feet and Flight PK 725 from Lahore to Riyadh at an altitude of 36,000 feet last used Iranian airspace on January 18 around 11 am. . Now these flights are entering the airspace of Gulf of Oman via Turbat and Gwadar.
Flights from Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, Peshawar and Multan to Jeddah, Riyadh, Madinah, Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Dammam and Kuwait City have been using the Iranian border.
Flights from Lahore and Sialkot to Kuwait City have been using Iran’s airspace for more than one and a half hours.
