Mohammad Kaif Criticizes Pakistan’s Batting Line-Up Ahead of T20 World Cup Clash

Lahore (NNP))Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has expressed concerns over Pakistan’s batting strength just days before their highly anticipated T20 World Cup match against India at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9. Kaif’s remarks, delivered during an interview with Star Sports, highlighted the limited number of aggressive batsmen in the Pakistan squad, emphasizing that only a few players like Fakhar Zaman and Iftikhar Ahmed can deliver at a high strike rate.

“Everyone knows that Pakistan’s batting is weak,” said Kaif. “Fakhar Zaman plays a bit fast and, on his day, can win the match single-handedly. Iftikhar Ahmed also plays aggressively, but aside from them, the other batsmen mostly play at a strike rate of 120 to 125.”

Kaif also underscored the strength of Pakistan’s bowling attack, warning of the threat posed by Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah. “Their bowling is to be feared. They will have Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, who can be particularly dangerous on a bouncy pitch,” he added. Kaif recalled Naseem Shah’s impressive spell against India in the Melbourne match, noting the challenges he posed to Indian batsmen.

Pakistan’s track record against India in the T20 World Cup shows India winning five out of seven encounters, with Pakistan securing a single victory in 2021 when Babar Azam’s team defeated Virat Kohli’s squad by ten wickets. The upcoming match is expected to be another thrilling chapter in this intense rivalry, with both teams looking to secure a crucial win in the tournament.

As the cricketing world watches closely, Kaif’s comments add to the pre-match fervor, highlighting the ongoing scrutiny and pressure on Pakistan’s batting line-up to perform against a formidable Indian side.
