Islamabad (NNP) Mr. Rahmat Hindiyarta Kosuma, the Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy, paid a visit to the headquarters of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) on Thursday, engaging in discussions with Chairman Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari.
The purpose of the meeting was to enhance cooperation, particularly in the humanitarian sector, and to exchange insights on various topics concerning the welfare of humanity.
During his visit, Mr. Kosuma was provided with a comprehensive overview of PRCS programs and ongoing humanitarian efforts by Secretary General Muhammad Abaidullah Khan. He gained insights into the Red Crescent’s services during natural disasters and emergencies, including the 2022 monsoon flood response and ongoing recovery efforts in affected regions.
Mr. Kosuma commended the Red Crescent’s dedicated services and lauded Chairman Laghari’s leadership in advancing humanitarian initiatives. In discussions with media representatives alongside Secretary General Khan, he reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to continued collaboration with PRCS in the humanitarian sphere, expressing readiness to further strengthen the bond between the two nations.
Expressing gratitude for Indonesia’s support, particularly in organizing blood donation camps at the embassy, Secretary General Khan proposed establishing collaboration with the Indonesia Red Cross Society to provide financial and technical assistance, thereby enhancing PRCS’s capacity to address humanitarian challenges more effectively.
Highlighting the positive trajectory of PRCS’s relations with diplomatic missions, Secretary General Khan emphasized the commendable synergy reflected in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy.
Mr. Kosuma concluded his visit by touring the library and leaving his impressions in the visitor’s book.
This visit underscores the commitment of both institutions to bolster cooperation in humanitarian endeavors and signifies a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations.
