Jakarta :12 people were killed and 39 injured as a result of an explosion at a processing plant in Indonesia.
According to private TV Express News, a fire broke out after the explosion engulfed the stainless steel factory, sending black clouds of smoke into the sky. Rescue workers shifted more than 50 people to hospital, out of which 12 were confirmed dead, including 5 foreigners and 7 locals, 13 of the other injured were said to be in critical condition.
It has been reported that the furnace was being repaired before the explosion, which exploded due to an unknown reason. The fire at Sangshan Stainless Steel Factory was later brought under control, but the plant was completely gutted by then.
