Alpine Club of Pakistan Nurtures Young Talent in Sport Climbing

Islamabad: Athletes from Sweet Home Cadet College, Aagosh, and other educational institutions were recently trained in sport climbing at the PSB Climbing Wall. The Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) continues to provide regular training sessions to identify and develop young talent for inclusion in an elite athlete pool.

Zamurrad Khan, HI, has shown significant interest in promoting climbing and facilitated a group of 80 students to participate in a training session led by Rehmatullah Qureshi, with assistance from Abu Zar, Huzaifa Imran, Umar Bilal, Hanzala Hussain, and Hassan Faiz.

The participants received an orientation on sport climbing from ACP President Abu Zafar Sadiq. Additionally, Rehmatullah and his team provided practical tips on climbing techniques and shared insights into the technical aspects of the sport. The session also covered essential conditioning exercises and fitness basics, ensuring the students left with a comprehensive understanding of climbing fundamentals.

This initiative highlights ACP’s commitment to fostering a new generation of climbers and promoting the sport nationwide.
