RAWALPINDI (NNP) Social and public circles have welcomed MPA Tahira Mushtaq’s proposal to impose provincial tax on tobacco products from the Punjab Assembly to protect the youth from the harmful effects of smoking. In the recent session of the Punjab Assembly, an anti-tobacco resolution was presented by the member of the Punjab Assembly, which was approved by the house with a majority. The resolution stated that this house recommends that additional provincial tax be imposed on tobacco products to prevent the increasing use of tobacco products by the youth, along with ensuring effective implementation of anti-smoking laws in educational institutions
