Zindigi and SBP Rawalpindi Mark Milestone with Digitization of Saddar Bazar, Bank Road Cantt, Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, Pakistan] February 27, 2026: Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Rawalpindi, has inaugurated the successful digitization of Saddar Bazar, Bank Road Cantt, one of the city’s most prominent commercial hubs. Achieved under SBP’s visionary framework, this milestone marks a major step toward accelerating financial inclusion and advancing Pakistan’s journey to a truly cashless economy.The digitization of one of Rawalpindi’s busiest commercial Centres demonstrates tangible, on-ground impact and sets a replicable model for markets across the country. Through Zindigi Raast QR, merchants can receive secure, instant payments from any bank or wallet, while customers enjoy a simple “scan and pay” experience with instant confirmation. This integrated ecosystem boosts speed, security, transparency, and efficiency, building a digitally empowered, cashless marketplace.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Brig. Syed Ali Anjum, Station Commander Rawalpindi; Noman Azhar, Chief Officer Zindigi; Rizwan Khalil Shamsie, Chief Manager SBP; Atif Ishaque, Chief Business Officer Zindigi; and Mohsin Khan, Head of Merchant Channel & Retail Sales.

The initiative also received strong backing from Usman Shaukat, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), and Aamer Rashid, CEO of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB). Representatives of trade union bodies were also present, highlighting a unified commitment among public and private stakeholders to digital transformation.Commenting on the launch, Noman Azhar noted, “Saddar Bazar Rawalpindi is not just going digital, it’s becoming a live lab for understanding how cashless ecosystems reshape daily commerce, testing next-generation payment solutions and setting a blueprint for future smart markets across the country”.
