UOS Achieves Top Research Ranking in Punjab
The University of Sargodha has achieved remarkable success in education and research, securing the First Position among general public sector universities in Punjab and earning a place among Pakistan’s top ten universities in the Higher Education Commission’s Annual Research Productivity Report 2024-25.According to the report issued by the Higher Education Commission, the university demonstrated extraordinary progress with a 135 percent increase in research productivity over the last two years, ranking third overall in Punjab and ninth nationwide.Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Qaisar Abbas congratulated the faculty members, administrative officers, and particularly the university’s ORIC department for their dedication and hard work.He termed the achievement a historic milestone for the university.
It is noteworthy that two years ago the university had secured only 30 marks in research performance and was close to being blacklisted. However, due to the personal efforts of the Vice Chancellor and the continuous commitment of researchers, the university not only avoided blacklisting but also emerged among the country’s leading research institutions.The remarkable and outstanding performance of the University of Sargodha in education and research was highly appreciated on various forums by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider, the Secretary Higher Education Department, and the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission.They also paid rich tribute to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Qaisar Abbas for his visionary leadership and exceptional contributions toward academic and research excellence.The outstanding achievement has also been appreciated by academic, political, social, and business circles across the country.
