Islambad (NNP) In a historic turn of events at the Senate, Yousaf Raza Gilani of the People’s Party secured the position of Senate Chairman unopposed, while Sardar Syedal Khan Nasir from the Muslim League-N clinched the Deputy Chairman seat unchallenged. The absence of competing candidates for these prestigious positions underscores a unique moment in Pakistan’s political landscape.
The day commenced with an aura of anticipation as Senators convened under the leadership of Presiding Officer Ishaq Dar. It was a ceremony marked by unity as newly elected senators from recent by-elections were sworn in, reaffirming their commitment to public service.
