Islamabad (City Reporter) Tariq Hameed, a prominent figure of the Houston American trades community, Nusrat Leghari and Tehreem Zuberi of the PPP Women’s Wing USA said that the nation is saddened by the couple killed in the name of honor in Quetta, the tragedy will remain a stain on the face of Pakistani society. Killing an innocent woman and a man by shooting them in public is the worst example of barbarity and brutality that has no moral, legal or religious justification. In a conversation with the delegation, the leaders said that Islam gives respect, protection and status to women, and the occurrence of such heartbreaking incidents is a question mark on the state machinery. Tariq Hameed, Nusrat Leghari and Tehreem Zuberi demanded that the federal and provincial governments arrest those involved in the incident and give exemplary punishment. They further said that such elements are enemies of humanity for whom there is no place in the society. If strict action is not taken on this incident today, it will not be possible to stop the atrocities in the future. The viral video of Sheetal from the hilly area of Sanjang Degari in Quetta is two months old. The problem is why did the local police not take notice of the perpetrators of the atrocities? Is it a sign of a civilized society to have “our own court” on every issue and problem?
