Rawalpindi Women University Commemorates 77th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervor

Rawalpindi (NNP)  Rawalpindi Women University celebrated Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm on Wednesday. The event was marked by a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal, accompanied by the national anthem and a Guard of Honour by the university’s security personnel.

A special prayer for the country’s stability and prosperity was offered during the event. To promote environmental consciousness, trees were planted across the university premises, and a significant number of fruit plants were distributed among the attendees.

 

Murtaza Noor, the National Coordinator of the Inter-University Consortium, was the chief guest of the ceremony. In his address, he underscored the significance of Minorities Day on August 11 and Youth Day on August 12, urging the protection of minority rights, contributions to a greener Pakistan, and active participation in the education and empowerment of women.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal extended her heartfelt Independence Day greetings, emphasizing the crucial role of the youth, who make up 65 percent of the population, in shaping the nation’s future. She highlighted the responsibility of teachers in guiding and developing students’ skills alongside their academic education.

 

Prof. Dr. Kamal proudly noted that Rawalpindi Women University has rapidly established itself among the country’s top institutions, demonstrating remarkable progress in a short period. The celebration concluded with the Vice Chancellor cutting the Independence Day cake.

The event also featured vibrant performances by students, including a medley of national songs and a judo demonstration. The campus was decorated with lights, reflecting the university’s deep patriotism and love for the country. A large number of faculty, staff, and students participated in the ceremony, making it a memorable occasion.
