Islamabad (NNP) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar Haq of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has extended an olive branch to the representatives of the Public Action Committee, inviting them for negotiations in the midst of mounting unrest. Speaking at Jammu Kashmir House in Islamabad, Haq, accompanied by Implementation Commission Peer Mazhar Saeed Shah and Advisor to the Prime Minister Sardar Ahmad Sagheer, announced plans for a long march to address pressing demands.
Highlighting the establishment of a coalition government in Azad Kashmir, Haq emphasized the significance of negotiations with the People’s Action Committee, which resulted in a crucial agreement. However, recent protests have taken a tragic turn with the loss of a brave police sub-inspector, amidst reports of miscreants infiltrating the demonstrators. Despite these challenges, Haq commended the patience and resilience of law enforcement, particularly the Azad Kashmir Police.
Underlining the importance of decision-making within the Legislative Assembly, Haq urged the members of the Public Action Committee to engage in discussions regarding critical issues such as electricity and flour supply. He also cautioned against the spread of false information, citing recent incidents in Didyal that sparked unwarranted outrage, emphasizing the need for responsible journalism.
Amidst these developments, Haq addressed the citizens, asserting their stake in shaping the state’s future and urging unity. However, concerns have been raised over alleged threats from India’s Defense Minister Birmala, who purportedly plans to sow anarchy in Azad Kashmir, including cutting the development budget and providing relief in the form of flour. These statements have prompted international attention and condemnation, further exacerbating the delicate situation.
