Peshawar( )Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (KPCM) Ali Amin Gandapur chaired an important meeting regarding peace and security in Peshawar on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and other relevant officials, as per the Directorate General Information and PR’s KP (DGIPR).
The Chief Minister was briefed by the officials on the overall security situation in the province, challenges faced, future action plans, and other related issues.
In a significant move to strengthen the police force, the CM announced a fund of three billion rupees for the purchase of bulletproof vehicles, weapons, and other modern equipment.
He also announced the inclusion of police martyrs’ families in the Ramadan package, wherein each family will receive ten thousand rupees in cash.
In a major decision for the children of police martyrs, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a one-time quota under which all children of martyrs will be recruited in the police force. A case for the approval of the cabinet will be prepared for this purpose.
The establishment of a Safe City project in all divisional headquarters of the province was also directed by Gandapur. The meeting also discussed matters related to the establishment of a security division within the police for the security of important personalities and installations.
Security and peace are top priorities for the provincial government, and no compromise will be made on these issues, stated Ali Amin Gandapur.
To better address the current situation, the police will be strengthened in every aspect. For this purpose, the necessary financial resources will be provided to the police on a priority basis, he added.
