Kazakhstan Joins Board of Peace Without Financial Contribution

Kazakhstan has officially joined the Board of Peace without making the voluntary contribution of 1 billion US dollars mentioned in the organization’s charter.According to the charter, joining the Board of Peace requires only a sovereign decision by a state. The 1 billion US dollars contribution is voluntary and is not a mandatory condition for membership.

Membership in the Board of Peace is valid for a period of three years. However, if a member state makes the voluntary payment within the first year, it becomes eligible to extend its membership beyond the initial three-year term.Kazakhstan joined the Board without any financial contribution, a move that fully complies with the charter’s provisions.As previously reported, on January 22, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the Charter of the Board of Peace, an initiative launched by U.S. President Donald Trump.So far, 19 countries have signed the Gaza Board of Peace Charter.
