Damascus (NNP) As tensions escalate in the Middle East, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Iranian Embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Monday, resulting in the death of eight individuals, as reported by the IRNA news agency. The attack raises concerns of further conflict escalation, especially following the recent casualties in Gaza.
According to Iranian sources, the Syrian Air Force managed to intercept some of the Israeli missiles aimed at the embassy. Meanwhile, Sana, the Syrian state news agency, stated that the “Zionist forces” targeted the Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus.
Fortunately, the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus, including the ambassador and his family, emerged unharmed from the attack.
