ATTOCK (NNP) The Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider has said that district Attock would get Sub campuses of Punjab University and University of engineering and Technology Taxila soon which would be proved a foundation stone for higher education in the district. He was talking to newsmen in Attock on Wednesday.
The governor added that the participants that Punjab University campus would be established in Fatehjang while University of engineering and Technology Taxila sub campus would be established in Jand. He added that the stalled project of Aarid University Attock campus which is at back burner from last many years would be again re-activated and it would be made ensured to commenced academic activities during next educational session.
Earlier, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider presided over a meeting held at deputy commissioner office Attock on Wednesday. The meeting was organized by district administration to brief the governor about various public welfare oriented programs, women empowerment, development schemes and initiatives in health and education sector. He lauded the vision of deputy commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza about establishment of IT centers in over 240 schools across the district, peasant center for women and establishment of first divisional public school in the over one hundred years history of the district. He informed that the District Public School of Information Technology has been established and the classes are being held in the pilot school on a temporary basis and the permanent building of the school is in the process of completion on 21 kanals of land which will be completed in the near future. Later the Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider visited Thalassemia center at district headquarters hospital, divisional Public school and under construction mother and child hospital. During his visit to Thalassemia center he interacted with Thalassemia affected children, apprised them about their problems and brings giggles on their faces by distributing gift hampers among them.” You are not alone, the government as well as administration is with you to provide all out health facilities to you for your treatment”, he said. On this occasion, he lauded the establishment of 20 beded state of the art Thalassemia center in the city with self help bases by the district health authorities.
While briefing the governor, deputy commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza briefed governor about various initiatives taken by the district administration in health and education sector. He informed governor that digital technology based ‘Learn and Learn programme’ has launched imparting IT education in 24 different boys and girls government schools across the district on a professional basis so that these students can follow the path of economic self-sufficiency through freelancing, graphic designing and other related courses.
