Hashmi’s Rawalpindi ki Shairi Riwayat’ Launched
Organized by “Zawiya” under the auspices of Academy of Letters, the young poet, writer and researcher Farzand Ali Hashmi’s new book “RawalPindi ki Shairi Riwayat’ has been launched. The ceremony was presided over by Khawar Ijaz, a poet, writer and critic of Rawal Des. While addressing the ceremony, he said that Hashmi has dug deep to preserve the poetic traditions of Rawalpindi as well as touched upon those remote areas of Pindi’s literary circles which hitherto were out of focus.
Dr. Arshad Mahmood Nashad, chief guest, said that this work is sheer dedication and commitment of the author towards the poetic landscape of his soil and region i.e., Pothohar. He appreciated his efforts and congratulated him on the completion of the important research work.
The guest of honor, Dr. Zahid Hassan Chughtai said that the value of the mentioned book is obvious that future researchers will not only benefit from it but will be able to include it in their research projects.
Dr. Ravish Nadeem said that exploring the traditions of the said region, and then compiling each and every detail of the past is an arduous task for which the author deserves all the praise. According to him, this book carries all the necessary ingredients to be taken up further by the upcoming researchers. Inserting the right references, footnotes and bibliography is a valuable addition to the work.
Dr. Abid Sial said that such work will make meaningful contribution in the sphere of literature.
Dr. Humera Ishfaq said Hashmi is a young dogged soul and always comes up with something special. This work stands witness to his selfless commitment towards pen and paper.
