ISLAMABAD, Apr 20 (APP):Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani paid rich tribute to the Poet of the East and Thinker of Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, on the occasion of his 88th death anniversary.

In his special message, he described Allama Iqbal as an extraordinary intellectual leader for the Muslims of the subcontinent, who, through his poetry and philosophy, articulated the vision of an independent homeland and infused a renewed spirit among the people.

The Chairman of the Senate stated that the teachings of Allama Muhammad Iqbal continue to serve as a profound source of guidance even today.

He emphasised that Iqbal inspired the youth with the values of self-respect and relentless struggle—principles that form the foundation of any successful nation.

He noted that by embracing Iqbal’s philosophy, individuals can bring about positive change within themselves and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani further remarked that Allama Iqbal’s vision of Pakistan was rooted in the ideals of a welfare-oriented and just society, where every individual enjoys equal rights, and the rule of law prevails.

He underscored that in the present era, it has become imperative to understand and implement Iqbal’s philosophy to lay the foundation for a strong and stable Pakistan.

He added that Parliament, along with all state institutions, bears responsibility for discharging its duties in light of Iqbal’s guiding principles. He stressed that national unity, cohesion, and progress demand renewed adherence to Iqbal’s thoughts.
