Acting Chairman Senate Meets US Embassy Delegation, Reaffirms Strong Pakistan–US Ties

Islamabad:The Acting Chairman of the Senate, Syedaal Khan Nasar, met with a three-member delegation from the United States Embassy, led by Political Counselor Ms. Shelley A. W. Saxen, today at the Parliament House, Islamabad.During the meeting, both sides exchanged views in detail on matters of mutual interest, including international politics, global and regional economic trends, economic growth and prosperity, peace and stability, the prevailing security situation, and the effective utilization of resources.Speaking on the occasion, Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its bilateral relations with the United States. He noted that due to the incumbent government’s effective diplomatic strategy and foresight, Pakistan–US relations have further strengthened. He emphasized that the relationship between the two countries is founded on mutual respect, trust, and shared interests.The Acting Chairman remarked that US President Donald Trump holds Pakistan in high regard, adding that the meetings between President Trump, Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Defense Forces General Asim Munir were conducted in a cordial and positive atmosphere. He paid a rich tribute to the historic role played by the US President during periods of Pakistan–India tensions, stating that his initiatives helped avert escalation and saved millions of human lives, for which Pakistan deeply appreciates his efforts.Syedaal Khan Nasar highlighted that Pakistan has made immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, losing thousands of precious lives and bearing economic losses amounting to billions of dollars. He noted that Pakistan remains one of the countries most affected by terrorism and that counter-terrorism efforts continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He stressed that the international community must acknowledge Pakistan’s sacrifices and extend further cooperation, as terrorism has severely impacted the country’s economic and social fabric.The Acting Chairman further stated that Pakistan offers vast investment opportunities, and that American companies can play a significant role by investing in Pakistan, thereby strengthening bilateral economic, commercial, and social ties. He also emphasized the importance of parliamentary exchanges, noting that such engagements help enhance mutual trust and cooperation.He invited the US delegation to visit Balochistan, assuring them of the traditional hospitality of the people of the province and full security arrangements by the provincial government.
