Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan Assumes Charge as Commissioner Mirpur Division

Mirpur (PID), December 23, 2025:According to a notification issued by the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan has formally assumed charge as Commissioner Mirpur Division and started performing his official duties.Following his assumption of office, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Sajid Aslam, Collector Mangla Dam Affairs Raja Tariq Mahmood, Assistant Commissioner Raja Zahid Hussain, Revenue Officer Raja Ayaz Ahmed Khan, Naib Tehsildar Islamgarh Chaudhry Altaf Hussain, along with officers and staff of the Commissioner’s Office, called on him and congratulated him on his appointment.Addressing the officers and staff, Commissioner Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan said that the Commissioner’s Office and the Revenue Department are among the most important institutions of the state, and all employees associated with these offices carry significant responsibilities. He emphasized that officials must deal with visiting citizens with courtesy, ensure prompt resolution of their issues, and address legitimate complaints on a priority basis. He stressed that no applicant’s work should be delayed without justification.The Commissioner further stated that Mirpur Division holds special importance in the state, as a large number of its residents are settled abroad. In this regard, he directed that issues faced by overseas Kashmiris across the division should be resolved on a priority basis.He added that a comprehensive strategy would be adopted in the coming days to address existing issues and administrative matters. He urged employees to maintain office discipline, resolve public issues strictly in accordance with law and rules, and ensure courteous behavior with the public at all times.
