Wars – Who wins who loses?

(London) This year we have unfortunately seen many wars. The world seems to be heading towards disaster. One wrong decision can drastically affect the whole world. The world is a sort of global village. Wars create a refugee crisis, which then can cause an economic crisis for other countries. The narratives portrayed on social media are extremely powerful and a source of immense influence on the minds of people. It is beyond the capacity of every mind to distinguish between fact, fiction, truth, falsehood, hidden agenda’s and propoganda. The keyboard warriors are also at war when typing comments on different platforms.

World War One started due to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand who was the heir-apparent to the Austrian-Hungarian throne. World War Two started due to a megalomaniac dictator who believed that he was right about everything, was superior to everyone else and wanted world domination. World War Three may or can start on some petty matter. I hope not. The Leaders are always responsible because due to their acts, omissions, petty interests and egos wars commence. In wars the common person pays a huge price.

Furthermore, inter alia international arms dealers, civilian contractors, arms production companies, financial institutions,

commodity dealers, black marketeers and states that sell arms benefit from wars. The never ending war of Ukraine must end. The never ending wars of the middle east must end. The never ending dispute of Jammu and Kashmir must end. The United Nations must be made effective and efficient. To prevent wars severe and effective sanctions should be imposed upon countries that do not settle them peacefully. Third party mediation can be very useful to settle wars and disputes between states. The great powers, in particular the USA under the leadership of President Trump should ensure that potential wars are stopped at the outset before they become cancerous.

Leaders and ministers are elected to serve the best interests of the state and its people. The latin word ‘minister’ means “servant”. The word ‘minister’ is derived from the word ‘minus’ meaning “less”. State Leaders should lead towards the right direction not be led towards destruction. World War Two destroyed the old world order. After the second world war a new world order was established along with a universal set of values and rules. Now the existing world order is diminishing and this may lead to chaos. The world must have single standards, not double standards or selected standards as regards aggression and injustices. The notion that ‘might is right’ or ‘might is always right’ is a disastrous approach. Large states should not be allowed to swallow small states.

Global leaders should work hard to settle existing wars, prevent potential wars and create a climate of universal stability. In reality there are no real winners in a war, a cycle of violence and bloodshed is created which sows the seeds for further conflict. The world should jointly declare war against the alleviation of poverty, illiteracy, child labour, disease and unfair trade.
