Meeting of the Pakistan– Uganda + Rwanda Parliamentary Friendship Group with the High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda

Islamabad 03Sep,2025 ,NNP A meeting of the Pakistan–Rwanda Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) convened today at the Parliament House, Islamabad, under the convenership of Ms. Aasia Ishaque Siddiqui, MNA. The meeting was attended by Members of the Friendship Group, including Mr. Anjum Aqeel Khan, Mr. Ahmed Saleem Siddiqui, and Ms. Sabheen Ghoury.

During the meeting, Ms. Aasia Ishaque Siddiqui, Convener of the Pakistan–Uganda + Rwanda PFG, proposed the establishment of a counterpart Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Parliament of Rwanda to institutionalize bilateral engagement and strengthen parliamentary diplomacy. She emphasized the importance of enhancing Government-to-Government (G2G) contacts and strengthening cooperation in the banking and IT sectors promoting tourism and cultural exchanges and deepening parliamentary cooperation was also discussed during the meeting. Follow-up on pending MoUs through coordination with relevant ministries and departments was also discussed.

The Convener assured that the High Commission of Rwanda in Pakistan, in collaboration with the concerned authorities, would work closely to expedite the resolution of pending MoU-related matters on Pakistan’s side.

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda highlighted the significance of close bilateral cooperation. She reaffirmed Rwanda’s keen interest in enhancing collaboration with Pakistan in various sectors, including trade, investment, tourism, and technology. She further assured that the Rwandan side would also accelerate action on pending MoUs to facilitate smoother cooperation between the two countries.

Members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Pakistan–Rwanda relations and expressed full support for initiatives undertaken by both sides.
