On July 15th, 2025, Mr. Miran Mohiyuddin Soomro, the Senior Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and Mr. Naoaki Miyata, the Chief Representative of the JICA Pakistan office, signed the Grant Agreement for the aforementioned project. This program will facilitate the opportunity for 17 Pakistani government officers to pursue their studies at Japanese universities, aiming to obtain either Master’s or Doctoral degrees.
The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance the administrative capabilities of the government by providing qualified officers, who are engaged in the formulation and execution of Pakistan’s social and economic development, with the chance to earn Master’s and PhD degrees.
The application process is set to commence in Autumn 2025. We anticipate that this year, a greater number of qualified candidates for the JDS from various ministries and departments will be selected to benefit from this unique development program.
