MARDAN:joined the rest of the country in observing World Population Day on July 11, with a strong focus on raising awareness about population growth challenges and the importance of family planning.
An awareness rally was held from the District Population Welfare Office to Sector L Sheikh Maltoon, led by District Population Welfare Officer Asghar Khan, FPAP Manager Sohail Iqbal Kakakhel, Dr. Roheel Ara, Deputy Officer Zawar Safi, and Umer Farooq. The event saw participation from doctors, LHWs, midwives, and members of the public.
A seminar followed the rally at the District Office, where speakers emphasized that the United Nations marks July 11 every year to highlight the importance of population control for better resource management. They stressed that community-level counseling on family planning is essential for sustainable development. The seminar concluded with a special appreciation shield presented to Asghar Khan by Sohail Iqbal Kakakhel for outstanding performance.
