Uzbekistan Establishes Samarkand Campus of International Tourism Academy Under UN Tourism, Launches Global Training Grants

In Uzbekistan under the auspices of the World Tourism Organization, the Samarkand Campus of the International Tourism Academy has been established.

In accordance with the relevant decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, starting from 1 December 2025, a special grant will be allocated annually from the funds of the Tourism Support Fund to enable 100 talented specialists from member states of the World Tourism Organization to pursue retraining and advanced training programmes at the Academy.

The main target indicators of the activities of the Samarkand Campus of the International Tourism Academy are as follows:

* establishing cooperation with an educational institution ranked among the world’s top 10 most prestigious institutions and launching the training of specialists;

* retraining and upgrading the qualifications of 2,800 specialists working in tourism and other service sectors during 2025–2028;

* organizing advanced training courses of up to one month and retraining courses of up to eight months.

The Academy is part of the structure of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand. Study at the Academy is conducted in Uzbek, Russian, and English, in accordance with the forms of education currently in force in Uzbekistan.
