SARGODHA: The University of Sargodha (UoS) and the Rotary Club Sargodha signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on plantation drives and a range of community development initiatives.
The signing ceremony took place at the university and was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, along with various deans, directors, and faculty members. The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Raza Bilal, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), and Mr. Mukhtar Mirza, President of Rotary Club Sargodha.
Under this agreement, the Rotary Club will provide free-of-cost support for plantation activities within and outside the university premises. Additionally, the Club will extend assistance in organizing environmental awareness campaigns, educational outreach, and health-related community engagement programs.
Speaking at the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas lauded the partnership as a valuable step toward community-centered progress. “Collaborations like these bridge academic institutions with real-world impact,” he said. He emphasized the importance of civic engagement and environmental responsibility, particularly in the face of climate change and urbanization.
President Mukhtar Mirza reaffirmed Rotary Club’s commitment to social service and highlighted the organization’s ongoing efforts in improving the quality of life through sustainable projects. “Our collaboration with the University of Sargodha is rooted in shared values and a common vision for a greener and healthier future,” he stated.
The event concluded with a symbolic plantation ceremony on campus grounds, reflecting the spirit of the partnership and its long-term goals.
