Sargodha (NNP) A groundbreaking move towards sustainability, the University of Sargodha (UoS) has embarked on a transformative journey towards renewable energy sources. Signing agreements with two private companies, the university has set the stage for the widespread adoption of solar power within its premises.
At a prestigious ceremony attended by esteemed university officials, including Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin, alongside company representatives, the agreements were formally sealed. With the stroke of a pen, the University of Sargodha committed itself to a greener future.
Under these landmark agreements, M/s NIMIR Energy Ltd has been entrusted with the responsibility of installing a solar energy system with a capacity of 2170 kilowatts for the main campus, while M/s NIMIR Energy Ltd Lahore will oversee a project of 275 kilowatts for the College of Agriculture. Additionally, M/s NANX Engineering (Pvt) Ltd Islamabad has been tasked with implementing a solar energy system of 150 kilowatts at the Allama Iqbal campus.
Speaking passionately about the initiative, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas articulated the university’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. “This step has been taken for a greener future, aligning with our vision to lead by example in promoting eco-friendly practices within our institution and beyond,” he remarked.
