MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 13, 2025- Ms. Kalsoom Kazmi, Founder & CEO of Brilliance Foundation Inc., USA, and an educator and human rights consultant, met Vice Chancellor University of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (UAJK) Prof. Nasir Jamal Khattak to explore prospects for academic and community-focused collaboration.
During the meeting, both sides discussed prospects for formal cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting student development, faculty enrichment, health and wellness awareness, and capacity-building initiatives for women and youth. The Vice Chancellor welcomed the initiative and highlighted the university’s commitment to partnerships that enhance students’ academic experience, leadership skills, and social responsibility.
Under the proposed MoU framework, UAJK and Brilliance Consulting Inc. would jointly organize workshops, seminars, guest lectures, conferences, and specialized training programs for students and faculty. The collaboration is expected to include personal and professional development programs focusing on leadership, communication skills, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, and other essential soft skills tailored to the needs of UAJK students.
The partnership also envisions mentorship and counseling initiatives, connecting students with national and international professionals, along with volunteer-driven support mechanisms. Through its network of supporters, Brilliance Consulting Inc. may also facilitate financial assistance or scholarships for deserving students, subject to mutually agreed arrangements.
Ms. Kazmi also held an interactive session with UAJK faculty members, educators, community leaders, and departmental representatives, where discussions focused on training opportunities for professionals working in schools, youth development programs, and women-centered capacity-building initiatives. A key area of concern highlighted during the interaction was the growing stigma surrounding mental health, with particular emphasis on awareness-building and suicide prevention strategies through education and institutional support.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Kazmi emphasized the role of universities in fostering holistic development and creating safe, supportive environments for students. UAJK officials expressed optimism that the proposed collaboration would translate into sustainable programs contributing to student well-being, leadership development, and positive social impact. -END
