Traffic flows smoothly despite entry of 23,000 vehicles in 36 hours; Tourist safety top priority: DPO Murree

MURREE, January 5: District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer, has stated that protecting the lives and property of the public, ensuring smooth traffic flow, and providing full facilities to tourists during snowfall are the department’s top priorities. He noted that despite the entry of over 23,000 vehicles, the Murree Police and Traffic Police maintained a smooth flow of traffic through an effective strategy.According to details, light snowfall began in Murree at approximately 2:15 PM and continued until 3:45 PM, blanketing various tourist spots, including Mall Road, Kashmir Point, and Barian, in white. Under the leadership of DPO Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer, the police and district administration responded immediately, ensuring effective traffic management on all key routes. All check posts remained active, and tourists were guided to safe locations in a timely manner.Sharing statistical data, DPO Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanveer revealed that a total of 23,114 vehicles entered Murree during the last 24 hours, while 15,143 vehicles exited. Consequently, 7,971 vehicles are currently present within Murree. Data collected up to this afternoon indicates that 12,777 vehicles entered the district, while 7,242 vehicles entered the city area specifically.The DPO further stated that all officers, personnel, traffic wardens, and rescue teams remained alert at every point. As a result, no untoward incident was reported, and the overall situation remained completely under control. The timely action by the district administration and police has been appreciated by the public and tourists alike.
