The Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) have showcased an impressive exhibition of โ€œYakishime : Earth Metamorphosisโ€ at the PNCA Gallery in Islamabad.

The Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) have showcased an impressive exhibition of โ€œYakishime : Earth Metamorphosisโ€ at the PNCA Gallery in Islamabad.

Together with chief guest, Hon. Mr. Jamal Shah, Caretaker Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture, H.E. Mr. WADA Mitsuhiro, Ambassador of Japan, inaugurated this exhibition of elegance.

Ambassador Wada unveiled the “modernized Yakishime” tradition, where contemporary artists reinterpret an ancient Japanese art form. This seamless blend of tradition and innovation, a hallmark of Japanese culture, breathes new life into age-old methods. Recognizing the rich, interconnected history shared by both nations, the Ambassador expressed anticipation for the exciting evolution of Pakistan’s traditional arts, carried forward by the next generation with a spirit of innovation.

 

The exhibition will remain open to visitors till 29th February
