Islamabad (City Reporter) Students celebrated the 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, cake cutting ceremonies were held in educational institutions in which children along with adults participated with smiling faces. The special guest at the celebration of independence at Mashaal Association School, Education expert Professor Dr. Samina Awan said that Pakistan is dear to us. He said that after the approval of the Pakistan Resolution 1940, the Muslims of the subcontinent participated in the struggle for Pakistan under the enthusiastic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, armed with unity, belief and organization, as per his decree, for only seven years. On August 14, 1947, Pakistan became an Islamic state on the map of the world on Munsiah Shahood. Professor Dr. Samina Awan further said that the nation pays homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs during the Pakistan Movement. Along with the songs and anthems of Sir Sabz Wa Shadab Pakistan, the students also paid tribute to the founder of Pakistan and planted saplings named after him.
