Muzaffarabad(PID AJK)9 February 2024 Prime Minister Azad Jammu Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar Ul Haq, while paying eulogizing tributes to Shaheed Afzal Guru has said that Guru is a true hero of Kashmiris who played an important role in the freedom movement.Terming death sentence against Guru as murder of justice, the PM said, “The Indian Supreme Court awarded death sentence to Afzal Guru to satisfy the collective conscience of Indian society”.He said that charges levelled against Guru were never proved in the court of law but despite that Guru was awarded capital punishment.He said that it was unfortunate that Afzal Guru was buried in the premises of the notorious jail soon after his execution.”The Indian authorities didn’t hand over the mortal remains of Guru to his heirs”, he said, adding that Afzal Guru’s supreme sacrifices would be remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history. “He is a hero of Kashmiris and will remain a hero”, the PM said. The PM expressed the optimism that the day was not far away when the people of the Indian occupied Kashmir achieve their cherished goal of freedom
