Islamabad ( cityreorter) Renowned journalist, anchor and analyst Baig Raj Sahib, who came from Pakistan, received an unprecedented welcome in Sydney. On the evening of July 5th 2024, a grand ceremony was held in his honour at a restaurant in Sydney, which was organized by Tariq Mirza, writer and columnist and founder of Allama Iqbal Study Circle, and Akhtar Mughal, the poet and founder of Bazam e Farogh Fun o Adab .The ceremony was presided over by Consulate General Of Pakistan Qamar Zaman, compared by Akhtar Mughal and welcome address by Tariq Mirza who emphasized some critical issues of human being. Qasim Khan recited the Holy Quran. The president of Pakistan Association, Chaudhry Iqbal, presented a bouquet of flowers to the visiting dignitary. Sohail Ahmed, Chief Executive of Glow Media Events presented memento souvenirs to chief guest Baig Raj, Consulate General Qamar Zaman and writer and host Tariq Mirza. The highlight of the event was that all major Pakistani organizations and prominent personalities of the community attended the reception. The persons who spoke on this occasion were, Tariq Mirza and Akhtar Ali Mughal, the Hosts, Shafaq Jafri, the President of Aus Pak Women’s Association, Raja Muhammad Aslam of Hum Watan Media Group, Ejaz Khan the founder and President of Pakistan Australia Association, Hamid Saroha, the President of Pakistan Association, Arshad Naseem Butt, the President of Pakistan Australia Friendship, Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, the President of Pakistan Association, Baig Raj the Chief Guest, Qamar Zaman, the Consulate General of Pakistan, who spoke on the occasion. The speakers welcomed the guest and appreciated his services, while some speakers also spoke on the volatile situation in Pakistan and Palestine. On this occasion, a commemorative shield was presented to Baig Raj Sahib by the Bazam e Farogh Fun o Adab and Allama Iqbal Study Circle Australia.The chief guest also cut his birthday cake, kindly gifted by Hamid Saroha.Finally, there was a lavish dinner at the Himalaya restaurant. Overall, it was a memorable event which Baig Raj Sahib journeyed from Melbourne to Sydney to especially attend.
