RCCI Hosts Digital Banking Awareness Session to Boost Financial Literacy and Ease of Doing Business

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organized an informative awareness session on Digital Banking, Raast, and Digital QR Payments, aimed at promoting secure, transparent, and efficient digital financial transactions among the business community.Addressing the gathering, President RCCI Usman Shaukat emphasized that creating a business-friendly environment must remain a top priority to ensure sustainable economic growth. He reaffirmed RCCI’s commitment to regularly holding such awareness sessions to strengthen understanding of digital systems and enhance overall financial literacy.Speaking on the occasion, Station Commander Brigadier Ali Anjum assured traders that no shops in the Cantonment area will be sealed without prior notice in the future. He stated that relevant departments will first issue written notices, clearly outline reasons, and provide sufficient time for compliance before taking any action. He stressed that collective efforts are essential to promote a supportive business environment and encourage financial awareness.Group Leader Sohail Altaf welcomed the decision regarding non-sealing of business centers, calling it a positive and trader-friendly step. He urged other departments to adopt similar policies and highlighted the need to bring tax rates down to single digits while reducing the overall cost of doing business.Mr. Rizwan Khaleel Shamsi, Chief Manager State Bank of Pakistan Rawalpindi, along with his team, actively participated in the session. Representatives from commercial banks and digital mobile wallet companies also gave detailed presentations on modern digital payment platforms and solutions.The session was attended by Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, members of the RCCI Executive Committee, and representatives of various traders’ associations, including Munir Baig Mirza, Senior Vice President Small Chamber Dost Ali Jan, and others.
