NNP (Monitoring Desk) Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman has accepted the resignation of Aitchison College Lahore Principal Michael A. Thomson.
Amina Kamran has been appointed Acting Principal of Aitchison College, replacing Michael A. Thompson.
It may be recalled that last month the principal of Aitchison College informed the staff of his resignation through a letter, saying that the partisan actions of the Governor’s House had damaged the governance and management of the school, the school to prioritize some people. The policy was damaged.
He had earlier refused to accept the fee waiver request submitted by the wife of Senator and Federal Minister Ahad Cheema.
Ahad Cheema’s two sons had to drop out of college when their mother Saima Ahad Cheema, a civil servant, was transferred to Islamabad. , but the principal rejected his request citing policy.
However, Saima Ahad Cheema approached Governor Balighur Rehman who accepted the request and forwarded the request to the Board of Governors of the college which changed the fee waiver policy.
In his resignation, Michael A. Thompson cited interference in the management of the college.
Later, in his statement on March 25, the Governor of Punjab said that the principal of Aitchison College had applied for resignation twice. was to be implemented and the appointment of the new Principal of Aitchison College next month has been finalised.
Muhammad Balighur Rehman had said that the principal of Aitchison College was receiving a salary of Rs 40 lakh, which has been audited.
