Islambad:During a fiery session in the National Assembly, PTI leader Umar Ayub Khan raised serious allegations, claiming that the election of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was illegal. Ayub asserted that the ruling coalition’s faces betray fear and guilt, insinuating that their mandate was fraudulent.
Ayub argued that the absence of Form 45 MNAs deprived them of a significant majority, undermining the legitimacy of the current government. He accused Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf of disregarding their demands during the Speaker and Deputy Speaker elections.
Furthermore, Ayub lambasted the ruling coalition, likening their governance to a continuation of the PDM government and decrying what he perceived as a dual legal system. He demanded the release of PTI’s women political prisoners and called for impartial inquiries into various incidents, including the May 9 tragedy.
Amidst the chaos, Ayub called for transparency, insisting that his speech be broadcasted live, mirroring the Prime Minister’s address. He criticized the government’s response to peaceful demonstrations and urged for justice for PTI’s fallen comrades.
Finally, Ayub condemned Israel’s actions in Palestine and vowed to bring a resolution on the matter. The session ended with heated exchanges between members of the Muslim League (N) and the Sunni Ittehad Council, underscoring the tense political atmosphere.
