Islamabad (NNP) President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has congratulated Barrister Azhar Iqbal on his appointment as a judge by the British Government.Pertinently, Barrister Azhar Iqbal’s family hails from Faizpur Sharif area of District Mirpur Azad Kashmir.While speaking to justice Iqbal on phone, the President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said, ” It is a matter of pride for us that the British government has appointed a Kashmiri origin as a judge for the first time”.Extending his heartfelt felicitations to justice Iqbal and his family Barrister Chaudhry wished him a successful tenure ahead. Barrister Chaudhry further said that it was quite heartwarming to see the Kashmiri expatriate community’s significant contribution to British society. The president said that he wished as a vibrant community the Kashmiri diaspora in the UK should also raise their voices for the resolution of the Kashmir problem and use their political clout to help stop the ongoing Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.On this occasion, Barrister Azhar Iqbal thanked the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for congratulating him on the phone and said, ” As a judge I will try to discharge my duties to the best of my abilities “.
