PM Shahbaz Sharif Focuses on Economic Relief as Inflation Drops, Forms Committee for Saudi Business Delegation Visit”l

Islamabad ( NNP ) Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Sartoor is trying to get more relief to the people as soon as possible, the people will also get relief by reducing the prices of petrol. In his message, he said that the lowest level of inflation in two years is a sign of economic improvement, the rate of inflation has dropped from 39% to 20% and now to 17%. Rakha, these are the fruits of this hard work, the reduction of inflation is the first goal, with the grace of Allah Vikram, the people will get more relief in economic activities quickly, the people will also get relief from the reduction in petrol prices, in the global market. As oil prices have come down, provincial governments should take steps to ensure implementation of official prices of petroleum products and food prices.

By the grace of Allah Ta’ala, by continuing in this direction, the lives of the people will improve further. Shahbaz Sharif said that Sartoor is trying to get more relief to the people as soon as possible. It should be remembered that the government’s efforts to control inflation began to bear fruit. The rate of inflation fell to the lowest level in the last 23 months. Inflation rate in Pakistan was recorded at 20.7% in March 2024, but this rate decreased by 3.4% to 17.3% in April.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has formed a 16-member steering committee for the expected visit of the Saudi business delegation to Pakistan. According to sources, the minister has been appointed as the chairman of the petroleum committee. Federal Ministers of Commerce, Privatization, Power and Industry and Production are among the members. Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Secretary will be part of the SIFC committee members. The chief protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be included in the committee members.

Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Minister of State will be among the IT committee members. Secretaries Power, Petroleum, Interior, IT, Trade and Investment Board will be part of the committee. The committee will make arrangements for business meetings for the Saudi delegation. The committee has also been tasked with security arrangements for the delegation, the Ministry of Commerce will provide secretarial support to the committee.
