Pakistan, Tunisia Discuss Regional Cooperation and OPCW Candidacy

ISLAMABAD, June 19, 2025 — The Chargée d’affaires a.i. of Tunisia held a meeting with H.E. Ambassador Tahir Hussain Andrabi, Additional Foreign Secretary for Arms Control, Disarmament, and Policy Planning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on a range of international and regional issues of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

One of the key topics of discussion was Tunisia’s upcoming candidacy for the position of Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). The Tunisian side sought Pakistan’s support for its bid, and positive engagement on the matter was noted.

The meeting reflected the strong and friendly ties between Tunisia and Pakistan, particularly in the area of multilateral diplomacy and disarmament policy.
