Pakistan, Kazakhstan Agree to Expand Environmental and Tech Cooperation

ISLAMABAD (NNP): The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, called on Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, at his office in Islamabad, where both sides discussed bilateral relations and avenues for enhanced cooperation in environmental and technological sectors.During the meeting, the Kazakh Ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to President of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and his delegation during their recent visit to Pakistan. He voiced satisfaction over the growing brotherly ties between the two countries and formally invited Dr. Musadik Malik to attend a regional environmental summit scheduled to be held in Astana in April.Welcoming the invitation, Dr. Musadik Malik highlighted the strong historical and cultural bonds between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

He emphasized that both countries could benefit from each other’s experiences and should expand cooperation and trade not only bilaterally but also across the broader Central Asian region.The two sides also reviewed progress on the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the Kazakh President’s visit to Pakistan. They explored potential joint initiatives in artificial intelligence, financial technology (FinTech), and e-governance.Key environmental challenges, including water scarcity and climate change, were also discussed. Both parties agreed to strengthen collaboration in environmental protection and sustainable development to effectively address these pressing issues.
