Pakistan and Belarus Seek to Boost Bilateral Trade Relations

Islamabad (NNP) In a bid to unlock the full potential of their trade ties, Pakistan and Belarus are poised to elevate their bilateral relations to new heights. Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, emphasized the need for both nations to capitalize on their existing trade dynamics and explore untapped opportunities

With Pakistan exporting a diverse array of goods ranging from medicaments to mangoes, and Belarus supplying agriculture tractors, fertilizer, and more, there exists a fertile ground for expanding trade horizons. Minister Khan particularly highlighted Pakistan’s prowess as the fourth-largest dairy producer globally, signaling the country’s potential to emerge as a significant exporter in this sector.

The recent 6th Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission session, held in Minsk, underscored the importance of ongoing bilateral cooperation in trade. Despite a recorded trade volume of $19.05 million, Minister Khan stressed that this figure falls short of the true potential, urging for deeper engagement through both business-to-business and government-to-government dialogues.

Ambassador Mr. Andrei Metelitsa echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Belarus’s expertise in manufacturing harvesters and electric vehicle transports. He proposed closer collaboration between the two nations in these sectors, paving the way for mutually beneficial partnerships and enhanced economic ties.

As both countries set their sights on bolstering trade relations, the stage is set for a promising chapter of cooperation and growth between Pakistan and Belarus.
