NNP Islamabad: Journalists across Pakistan staged a protest today against the recent acts of police violence and harassment during peaceful demonstrations. The protest was called by the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) following incidents of alleged police misconduct and brutality during a recent rally.
The PFUJ condemned the Islamabad police for their heavy-handed tactics, accusing them of turning peaceful protests into violent confrontations. “We reject these oppressive tactics. The police have a history of using excessive force against peaceful demonstrators, and this must stop,” said a spokesperson for the union.
