Govt announced 40 M grant for lawyers who were slain by cop in Attock

ATTOCK( NNP) Government announced compensation worth Rs 40 million for the families of two lawyers Malik Israr Ahmed and Zulfiqar Mirza who were gunned down by an official of elite force in Attock court complex on June 15. This announcement was made during a condolence reference at district bar Attock on Thursday. The condolence reference was presided over by while Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider while Federal Minister for law Azam Nazir Tarar, Provincial Law Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed, National Assembly Members Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Malik Sohail Khan, Provincial Assembly Members Chaudhry Sher Ali Khan, Malik Itibar Khan, Former Provincial Minister Jahangir Khanzada, Former Provincial Assembly Member Iftikhar Khan, President District Bar Rizwana Raja, Secretary Malik Usman, Chief Co-Ordinator Attock Press Club Regd. Nisar Ali Khan and representatives and office bearers of lawyers’ organizations were also present. In his address Sardar Saleem Haider has said that government would not leave families of slain lawyers Malik Israr Ahmed and Zulfiqar Mirza and would utilized its all out resources for the well being of their family members besides the culprit behind this bloodshed would be dealt as per law.

 

Provincial Law Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed in his address has all resources will be utilized for the welfare and safety of lawyers community and their families across the province in collaboration with all stakeholders. He added that he would visit all the district bars soon and in consultation with legal community, a coordinated strategy will be drawn up for the betterment and protection of lawyers.

Senior lawyer Sheikh Ahsanuddin, Member Pakistan Bar Council Qalb-E-Hasan, Former President Supreme Court Bar Hassan Bhawan, President High Court Bar Jawad Khalid, Member Pakistan Bar Council Hasan Raza Pasha, President District Bar Attock Rizwana Raja, Sardar Tauseef Ahmad Khan Advocate and other speakers also spoke on this occasion.
