Maryam Nawaz took oath as new Chief Minister of Punjab

Newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took oath.

Newly elected Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz reached Governor House Lahore where Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman administered oath to her.

Maryam Nawaz’s father Nawaz Sharif and party president Shehbaz Sharif were also present in the swearing-in ceremony of Maryam Nawaz.

Various foreign diplomats and various personalities also participated in the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

PML-N members of Punjab Assembly, leaders of Muslim League-N also participated in the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Maryam Nawaz elected first woman Chief Minister of Punjab
Earlier, PML-N candidate Maryam Nawaz was elected Chief Minister of Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz made history by becoming the first woman Chief Minister of Punjab in the history of Pakistan.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan announced that PML-N candidate Maryam Nawaz got 220 votes in the Punjab Assembly, while Rana Aftab, candidate of Sunni Ittehad Council, did not get any votes.

Speaker Punjab Assembly congratulated Maryam Nawaz on being elected Chief Minister of Punjab and invited her to come to the Speaker’s seat.

Earlier, the voting process for the election of the Chief Minister of Punjab was completed without the members of the Sunni Ittehad Council in the Punjab Assembly and the votes were counted.

In the Punjab Assembly, the bells of the House rang again for 2 minutes after which the Speaker called all the members present in the lobby back to the House.

The Sunni Ittehad Council boycotted the voting process completely.

The meeting started 30 minutes late
Today, the assembly session started with a delay of 30 minutes in connection with the Chief Minister’s election scandal in Punjab.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan presided over the meeting of the Punjab Assembly.

Maryam Nawaz was the candidate for the Punjab Chief Ministership of PML-N and allies, while Rana Aftab, the candidate of the Sunni Union Council, was against Maryam Nawaz.
