DPO Attock Replaces SHO Hazro Following Complaints, Public Welcomes Decision

ATTOCK (NNP)District Police Officer (DPO) Attock, Sardar Mawarhan Khan, has removed SHO Police Station Hazro, Sajad Haider alias “Don”, from his post and directed him to report to the police lines following numerous public complaints, allegations of threats to journalists and poor performance.

Police Station Hazro had witnessed a record number of robbery incidents, false cases, denial of justice to complainants, and several other serious complaints. These issues were repeatedly highlighted by senior journalist Nisar Ali Khan on his active and well-known social media platform Chhachh News Network. Reportedly, in retaliation, SHO Sajjad Haider issued direct threats to Nisar Ali Khan on several occasions.

It is further alleged that Special Branch official Muhammad Bilal, known for shielding the SHO and allegedly covering up corruption, conspired with him to implicate Nisar Ali Khan in false cases. Due to continuous harassment and pressure, the popular journalist was eventually forced to leave the country.

Similarly, journalist Muhammad Hafeez Mir was also arrested in two fabricated cases for reporting factual news and was allegedly subjected to severe torture and humiliation while in custody.

Taking notice of the growing crime rate and mounting complaints, DPO Attock Sardar Mowahan Khan removed SHO Sajjad Haider (Don) from his position and appointed Malik Amjad Ali, a dynamic, experienced, and crime-fighting police officer, as the new SHO of Police Station Hazro.

The decision of the DPO has been widely appreciated by the public and social circles on social media.

Meanwhile, citizens have also demanded that Regional Officer Special Branch Rawalpindi, SSP Zonaira Afsar, take strict action and transfer the controversial Special Branch official Muhammad Bilal. He faces serious allegations from overseas residents of Hazro, as well as political and business circles, including submitting baseless reports, demanding illegal payments, supporting select political figures and wealthy overseas individuals, and other grave misconduct. It has also been alleged that he has influenced even his superior officers through unethical practices.
