Islamabad (NNP) Director General of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Yasir Pirzada, met with a delegation of the Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) led by Wajid Ali Chaudhry. The meeting focused on proposed junior and senior badminton tournaments, equal opportunities for players, and matters related to obtaining NOCs for participation in international competitions.
DG PSB Yasir Pirzada stated that badminton, like many other sports, holds immense potential in Pakistan. He emphasized that with proper promotion, the sport can bring international recognition to the country, not just in Asia but globally. He added that improving Pakistan’s badminton rankings requires transparent trials and providing talented players with opportunities at national and international levels.
He further informed the delegation that PSB has launched an “E-Portal,” through which all services—including the NOC process for international participation—can now be accessed online. He said efforts are underway to make the NOC issuance process for players representing Pakistan abroad more efficient and transparent.
The delegation also included PBF Secretary General Raja Azhar and Treasurer Parvez Habib Butt.
