Deputy Chairman Senate Meets DG Civil Aviation Authority to Review Aviation Sector Challenges and Reforms

Islamabad: Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Syedal Khan Nasir, held a meeting with Director General Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Nadir Shafi Dar, at the Parliament House in Islamabad. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on key issues, challenges faced by the civil aviation sector, and the future roadmap for its improvement.The Director General CAA briefed the Deputy Chairman on the administrative, operational, and development aspects of the Civil Aviation Authority. He also provided an overview of the institution’s overall performance, passenger facilitation measures, and ongoing reform initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and service standards.On the occasion, Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan Nasir highlighted the vital role of civil aviation in strengthening the national economy and enhancing air connectivity. He emphasized the need for effective measures to further improve transparency, institutional performance, and passenger convenience.The Deputy Chairman also reviewed the performance of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and issued special directives to increase the number of flights on various domestic and international routes, expand air connectivity, and reduce airfares to facilitate passengers. He reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to extend full cooperation for the improvement of the Civil Aviation Authority and the national airline, ensuring that the public is provided with quality, safe, and affordable travel facilities.
