Islamabad (NNP) In a vibrant and engaging encounter, a Cuban Ambassador recently spent two hours discussing a wide range of topics with over a hundred undergraduate and graduate students at the School of Sociology, Quaid-i-Azam University.
The Ambassador, who graduated in Sociology from Cuba 25 years ago, was thrilled to engage with the enthusiastic students, who despite having limited knowledge of Cuba, asked numerous questions about the island nation’s political and social system, history, and vision on human rights and international affairs.
The students’ eagerness for knowledge, genuine interest, and admiration for Cuba’s achievements were palpable, leaving the Ambassador deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with the next generation of Pakistani sociologists.
The event was made possible thanks to the warm welcome extended by Dr. Hazir Ullah, Chairman of the School of Sociology, and his faculty, as well as the impeccable organization by the QAU Sociological Society. Special mention was made of Dr. Manuel Mejido, a Cuban compatriot and friend, who moderated and facilitated the encounter, making the diplomat feel part of the Sociology family once again.
The exchange was a testament to the power of people-to-people diplomacy and the importance of fostering greater understanding and cooperation between nations.
