Commissioner Peshawar Assures Full Support to Women Entrepreneurs, Backs WCCIPD Initiatives

Peshawar: Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud, has assured full cooperation and institutional support to the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Peshawar Division (WCCIPD) for promoting economic stability and empowering women entrepreneurs.The assurance was given during an important meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office, Peshawar, with a delegation of WCCIPD led by President Qurat Ul Ain. The delegation included Senior Vice President Zara Imtiaz, former Vice President Zobia Aamir, Executive Member Laziza Arbab, members Saima Amjad (former Vice President) and Asia, Secretary General Saba Hidayat, along with other representatives.During the meeting, President WCCIPD briefed the Commissioner on the establishment, vision, and objectives of the Chamber, highlighting its efforts in promoting women-led businesses through capacity building, business facilitation, improved market access, and policy advocacy.The delegation emphasized the significance of women’s economic empowerment through self-employment, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), home-based industries, and startups, stressing the need to further strengthen the role of women in the local and regional economy.WCCIPD also proposed the nomination of a focal person at the Commissioner’s Office to address issues faced by women entrepreneurs in a timely manner. Additionally, the formation of a joint committee was suggested to ensure sustained institutional collaboration. It was agreed to jointly organize exhibitions, markets, and promotional events to enhance market access for women-led businesses.Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud appreciated the initiatives taken by WCCIPD and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting women’s economic empowerment, expressing readiness for coordinated efforts and long-term collaboration in the future.
